It’s better for the environment too-don’t throw away perfectly good hardware just because the software stops working. In Jan 2003 I bought VueScan for my Epson Perfection 1200. With VueScan, you can still use all of these great attachments like the SF-200 Auto Slide Feeder, SF-210 35mm Slide Feeder, and more! Plus, it supports all of those cool features that make your scanner so awesome: infrared dust removal, color calibration, automatic frame detection… everything! And most of the parts don’t wear out as easily-you’ll save money in the long run! They’re cheaper and made of plastic, while the older Nikon scanners are substantial and made of metal. VueScan has a custom, reverse-engineered driver for Nikon scanners that enables them to work with newer operating systems like Windows 10, Windows 11, macOS and Linux. But Nikon’s scanner software doesn’t work on newer operating systems, it only works on Windows XP.īut there’s hope! We’ve made multi-page PDF files more flexible and have implemented multi-page JPEG files (for scanning front and back of ID cards). In particular, we have put the most common options in the INPUT tab, and made many of the options more intuitive for the common tasks that VueScan is used for. Since our last newsletter in April we have continued to implement all of your suggestions.
